We Are BAMily!
The BAMily has grown in the past several weeks, and we have more than 250 followers from all around the world. You are all supporting each other through life’s ups and downs, and helping each other achieve fitness goals no matter how complex or simple they may be.
This is a HUGE thing, BAMs. We have yet to see another group that is purely focused on fun, fitness, and support, without being obsessed with diets and body shape. You should all be very proud of this achievement because if only one person starts to get healthier or feel better about themselves, trite as it sounds, you’ve made a difference in the world.
Many of you are doing BAMchange as your WOD (workout of the day) or in combination with your regular exercise. Some of you aren’t doing BAMchange and instead share your own exercise achievements. Some of you are following and participating in My Peak Challenge. Some are in other groups like The Peak Posse. Still others follow, but remain silent and do your own thing.
It doesn’t matter! All of you are BAMs because whatever you’re doing, and however you’re doing it, the important thing is that you’re doing something! And that’s all it takes to qualify as a BAM.
A few entries have come in for Epic Mashups, Memes, and Playlists. Keep them coming, and don’t forget to hashtag them #booTEAlicious so we can find them later. Contest ends on January 31st at midnight!!! (Read our last blog here for more details on the contest.
Meet Your BAMily
We First Ladies were inspired by some of your comments and started thinking that it’s time for the BAMily to get together. Someday we’d love to have a really big BAMapalooza with events and all sorts of fun, but we’re not ready yet. So instead, we are proposing that on March 14/15 (which just happens to be My Peak Challenge weekend), you all arrange for “Meet Ups” with your BAMily members who are close enough to do so.
Are there a couple of you in NYC? Have a coffee together or go for a walk and plank by the Statue of Liberty! A few people in Cali? Nothing like a pushup on Venice beach!
No one else nearby? Grab a neighbour or friend and take them on a walk and maybe recruit them to join! Or, reach out to My Peak Challenge folks and invite them!
Whatever you do, make sure to take lots of pictures or videos and post them for us.
Now for the Big News
The First Ladies are super excited because on March14/15 at least two of the three of us are getting together in Sarah’s hometown of Seattle! (Still working on making it three of three, so stay tuned.) Finally we will be able to convince friends and family that we aren’t just “imaginary Twitter friends!”
We are inviting anyone and everyone who wants to, to come on out and have fun with us on Sunday, March 15th. BAMs, BAM family and friends, and a special invitation to anyone following My Peak Challenge as well!
We are participating in the St. Patrick’s Day Dash – a 5K through the streets of downtown Seattle. (Don’t worry if you aren’t a runner – Ruth will be walking the route.) Wear your brightest green (may we suggest the Bear Strength green tee shirt?) and join us for a celebration plank photo afterwards in front of the Space Needle. What a great pic to post to My Peak Challenge!!!
We will be adding more fun to the Meetup as the day gets closer and we have an idea of numbers. For now, all you have to do is RSVP to us, and register for the Dash (click the St. Patrick’s Day Dash link above).
So if you are in or around Seattle, or if you have lots of air miles and need a break, consider joining us. It’s going to be fun, and we are stupid excited to meet each other and any of you face-to-face.
Let us know if you have any thoughts and ideas, and we really hope to see you there,
Linda, Ruth & Sarah
